2006
Appointed by BAA to manage Stansted Generation 2 public consultation process. Broadening range of financial clients with advisory work secured on a number of international airport investments. Appointed by UK DfT to advise on response to European Commission on alternative mechanisms for airport slot allocation. Retained by Exeter Airport to assist in developing its master plan. Appointed by Avinor in Norway to undertake route development work.

 

2005
Developed business and financing plan for Etihad Airways to support lease of 8 A330 wide body aircraft. Designed and implemented network evaluation application for Etihad Airways. Supported financial investors in a range of airport related transactions and refinancing including Macquarie (Bristol, Exeter, Copenhagen, Budapest), Abertis (Slovakia) and Hochtief (India). Launched the Welsh Route Development Fund. Advised DfT on response to draft European State Aid Guidelines. Expanded aviaforecasts by undertaking forecasting work for Cardiff, Belfast, Liverpool, Newquay. Appointed by FlyBe to undertake analysis of new markets.

 

2004
Launched AviaForecasts. Detailed 30 year forecasts produced for Birmingham and Bristol Airports. Developed requirements for interim terminal facility at Abu Dhabi which was opened within 8 months. Undertook market perception study for BAA Aberdeen.

 

2003
Launched Route Development Funds (RDFs) for Scotland and Northern Ireland, with immediate success in attracting new international carriers (40 new routes have been secured since 2003). Analysed technical responses to the UK Government’s consultation and published detailed reports supporting White Paper conclusions. Carried out a review of financing of new runways at Birmingham, East Midlands, Glasgow and Edinburgh for DfT. Won first of four major projects for European Commission.

 

2002
Appointed by DfT to manage the consultation process in advance of the development of the Air Transport White Paper. Key clients in our second year also included the CAA (economic regulation of BAA and Manchester) and Irish Government (review of second terminal at Dublin Airport).

 

2001

Company founded in February. Key clients included British Airways (policy advice), Ernst & Young (Norwich airport sale, Luton airport concession renegotiation) and Peel Airports (forecasting advice at Finningley Inquiry).
